  1. Dad's Kitchen

    Patio Lunch at Dad's Kitchen

Recently I had lunch planned with some picky eaters and wondered where to take them that had a little of everything, but in no particular ethnic culinary niche. Dad's is always a good choice for sandwiches and soup, a crowd pleaser for those with traditional and tasty American cuisine in mind. However, we were looking for a place to linger a little longer than the original Dad's encourages. We tried the newer establishment, Dad's Kitchen and were pleasantly surprised to see that the restaurant has a nicely shaded patio behind it. The fries were a good portion and tasty, although the chili and cheese topping was more of just crumbled cheese and not spicy like we had hoped. The salads were fresh and had a good helping of toppings outside the requisite greens. The burger was reported to be good as well. Overall, it was a tasty lunch enjoyed by all.

  2. French Cuff Consignment

    unique clothes, great style!

these ladies have it together. wherever they are buying their resale garments, they are doing a great job. the quality and the range of options at French Cuffs is terrific. if you are looking for a little bit of sexy or a suit jacket for work, they've got it. and the best part, no one else at your office/outing will! the prices were reasonable, the owners were friendly and cheerful and the clothes and jewelry were darling. when i am ready to rev up my work wardrobe with some unique finds, i am going there.

Dear Midtowners, Downtowners, Gridsters, Californians, and All Americans,

We no longer live in red and blue states, but a renewed United States!

The polls have officially closed and the doors of a country are officially open: it is 8:01 p.m. in California.

The election is over no matter how you voted and our new President-elect Barack Hussein Obama will work to inspire us toward the fulfillment of the common "pursuit of happiness."
