  1. Tea Cozy

    Comment
This has been the only place I have bought tea for the five+ years I have been living Downtown. My brother, who lives in Portland and who has been my teacher when it comes to tea, swears by them. If you are tea-specific, The Tea Cozy has the best selection. The owners also happen to be one of the nicest couples I've ever met. I always walk out with a smile, if nothing else.
  2. Temple Fine Coffee & Tea

Temple is the place to hang out downtown!

This is a great place to kick back, read a book, the paper or work on your PC if you can get a place to sit.  Ther fair trade coffee and tea choices are great, very friendly staff.

  3. Aioli Bodega Española

    Fresh Food and Friendly Service

Visited Aioli Bodega Espanola after being recommended by coworker with this exact phrase "any dish in the menu will delight you" and make sure you try one of their two paellas. So, we visited on Friday and i must say that the food, service and their Paella Valenciana (saffron rice with shrimp, seafood & chicken & pork sparerib) were amazing. Jason, our server, took his time to name the most popular dishes, a few of which we tried. Specifically, we tried Salmon con Accento Catalan, pan seared salmon, encrusted with hazelnuts in a fresh herb sauce Paella con Hungos, and saffron rice with truffled mushroom & dry aged Manchengo cheese. Their imported beers are also very goods. Make sure you visit this restaurant if you want to enjoy authentic Spanish food. Delicious for sure!!!!

  4. Opa! Opa!

    Food & Fun

Opa Opa has a nice family feel to it.  The owners and staff make you feel at home in their restaurant.  They have a great selection of vegetarian items as well.   The garlic chicken pita just can't be beat though!  I also enjoy the Spanikopita.  Every item I have ordered has been wonderful.  They have also just added an outdoor seating area which has been great this summer.  Sweeties is next door and is a great way to end any meal.  They have a wide selection of desserts to assuage any tastebud!

Best Oysters in Town- NISHIKI

Fresh Oysters and their Magic

Here I am, sitting in Nishiki and as a surprise I have 3 Oysters. They are prepared for me, with sriracha, green onions, lemon juice and ponzu. Amazing! I am so surprised. I haven't had Oysters this good since I was in New Orleans!

A real experience! If I hadn't already had the Corvette Roll, I would order 6 more Oysters..

Nishiki's is the best in town for Sushi, as well as Oysters. Go by and have 6 for youself. You wont be dissapointed. I promise.

Seeds, Science, Salvation

I was absolutely titillated by the high-resolution photos of various seeds I saw on the BBC web site. Here is the link to the slide show that got me interested in the Millennium Seed Bank: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7591649.stm

Cheap & Easy, Swine

Cheap & Easy, Swine

CHEAP & EASY, SWINE

When it comes to conscious spending on a budget, Trader Joe’s is the place to go. For less than $15 I was able to feed a hungry man and myself two good meals.

3 Pork cutlets (approximately 1 pound)        $5 at Trader Joe’s
