Kru is a Japanese style restaurant that serves Pan-Pacific food with French influence. Kru combines traditional Japanese and Asian ingredients and prepares them in a contemporary culinary style. Using only the freshest ingredients, Kru also has special offerings of fish and sushi that are updated regularly. In addition, you'll find a fine selection of wines that are available by the glass or the bottle.

"Kru is run by the same team that owns Taka's Sushi in Fair Oaks, and its experience and commitment to freshness shines through in this new Midtown spot. "

Freshest Sushi in Midtown

by ADlovesSac, Friday 15 of August, 2008 [13:39:55]
This small, cozy sushi place has a great selection of nigiri and rolls. Many sushi places have a long list of rolls and it takes you about a half hour to read them all. Not here. The options are simple and delicious. They also have some fancy Japanese champagne.

Cozy Neighborhood Sushi

The sushi is fresh and creative. The service is usually swift and polite. The bonus is that you can actually have a conversation without having to shout, like you do at Mikuni. It is my favorite place to get sushi.

Probably the most creatively presented dishes. This is the place to go if you want something new and unique with your sushi.

This place is great for sushi and for creative japanese fusion.  If you can afford it and have about $60-100 to
burn on a great meal for 2 sit at the bar and ask the chefs to feed you what they think is best.  Then watch
them create very tasty food artistry.  One of their old dishes was tuna sashimi and I still have vivid dreams about it.

My crew goes to Kru, a unique, trendy Pan-Pacific sushi spot where the chefs always say hello as you walk in and are eager to  see what type of rolls you will order.

Sushi rolls and sashimi are available upon request and there is a menu of rolls that the chefs are ready to make.  If you are not into sushi you can still dine at Kru as lightly fried veggie and meat selections are available as well as teriyaki entrees.  Anything from steak to lamb to flounder to duck are available.

The soft-shell crab and Philadelphia rolls are quite tasty along with a side of edemame.  If you are a sushi lover and you are looking for a new place to visit, bring your crew to Kru.

Tiny Bubbles

Oooh, oooh, oooh, if you haven't tried sparkling sake, you have to stop by Kru and do so immediately. this infusion of a champagne style with a Japanese tradition is apropos to the restaurant. Cru is a French term relating to a high quality wine or vineyard, and Kru blends well the best of Eastern cuisine, the Japanese, with the best of the West, the French. Not only is the sushi delicious, and the kitchen side-succulent, but the presentation is beautiful. I just keep hoping they will take advantage of that patio outback...
delicious! Furl this! digg this! stumbleupon this!
