Brian Ballantine

Front man of the Sacramento, California cult band Nevada Backwards honed his road-weary soul; traveling the United States, South America, Japan, Italy, and Mexico by train in support of sold-out records Ignorant and Adaven. “We’re not quitting,” says Ballentine, “Nevada Backwards will always exist for the die-hard fans that supported us throughout the years, and still support us. We do at least one reunion show a year, and it’s always brings us back to our roots; and we get to see our old friends.”

Ballentine’s focus is now absolute. He has lived inside and crawled out from under everyone of his songs; assuming the roles of: gambler, ladies man, transient, and storyteller. At one time or another, everyone of his guitars has been in pawn, only to be retrieved with interest after the next gig’s pay. His story is a saccharine sweet with the melancholy aftertaste of 12-year scotch and Players cigarettes; tales of lost love, of appreciation, of betting the house and losing it all. A decade of performing has given him rock-solid goals that reach the outer edge of the stratosphere.
