Andrew Hindman
Description
Andrew Hindman was born in 1969, in San Rafael, California. He currently resides in Sacramento, CA., with his wife and three children. He received his BA in Art at San Jose State University. His emphasis was in painting and drawing. Now, his work includes painting, scanning, printing, photography, collaging and fractals. He is especially inventive in embedding his fractals in his art. Themes that have reappeared throughout his work are: spheres, portraits, and hidden creatures. The latter, refers to the people and animals that appear hidden in his abstract art. He works randomly and intuitively, feeling that his best work is achieved when there is "no thought". His favorite pieces are those that leave the most to interpretation. Andrew has had his work shown throughout Sacramento, San Francisco and Los Angeles. His work has been featured on the covers of magazines such as: Conscious Living Magazine and IEEE Computer Graphics & Applications Magazine. Andrew also operates his own fine art reproduction business and can build custom frames. His customers especially enjoy that he can print their work onto canvas. His printing/framing business, with prices and detailed information can be found here. Finally, he accepts commissions for any piece of art or photography that you would like digitally enhanced and/or enhanced with paint. Andrew has a style that can not be compared or associated with other Artists. His art is something that one must SEE FOR THEMSELVES, and one would still have difficulties finding the words to describe it! The attached pictures show his variety of techniques and some commissions he has done for others. Go to his online gallery as well: www.ahindman.com/gallery.php
His most current work is working with Ink Washes and also using ink and coffee to make pools of black, coffee color tan, and white. These are apart of his "Waterpool" series and are yet to be photographed. You can see them at his space at 21st & K st. But hurry because they are being sold off the walls pretty quickly! |
