Held the 1st Sun in June, the River City Run is a 5 & 10km walk/run benefiting programs that inspire, encourage, and teach the next steps towards sustainable living.

Description
About the River City Run The River City Run, located in Old Sacramento, connects the heart of the city with the confluence of two major rivers. Experience the majesty of our rivers while being a part of the international celebration of World Environmental Day (WED). The run/walk promotes health, both of one's body and of the natural environment in which we live. The River City Run benefits local sustainable living projects. Since 2005, funds from this event have supported 15,000 in Sustainable Sacramento Grants to thirteen projects. A sustainable Sacramento is vital for the communities futures as a desirable, safe and beautiful place to live. Everyone wins! The run/walk starts and ends at Waterfront Park and follows the river for 5 or 10 miles. This is a great family event being held this year on June 1, 2008. A free Kids' fun run has been added too.
