Good news for Sacramento’s hip set: you can now carefully craft your mid-century modern digs without going to San Francisco. Brand new Bows and Arrows—from the folks who brought you Olipom boutique and the Pretty Trashy clothing line—is an enormous showroom of vintage clothing and furniture. Details are still in the works for their official launch party on the evening of December 1, but co-founder Trisha Rhomberg says the store will be “open late” that night with refreshments, music and a sale. (We’ll keep you posted). Bows and Arrows is already open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at 1712 L Street, (916) 444-3606. So get off your couch and go (sit on theirs).  more

Funnest Shop

by alicia brie, Wednesday 15 of October, 2008 (08:41:29)
They have a little bit of everything... It's a thrift store, but someone with great taste has selected the rare, ironic, trendy, and unique pieces.

Clothing is great, the furniture is even better

by ADlovesSac, Tuesday 14 of October, 2008 (07:52:48)
If I had more than my small, midtown apartment to furnish I would definitely come here. The unique, retro pieces are awesome. I dont know where they find this stuff, but its great. They also have a great vintage selection for both men and women. Check it out!

Clothing for the brave

by Rumbalsa, Monday 13 of October, 2008 (15:31:00)

Alright... So if you're looking to dress outside of your box but don't want to spend an arm and a leg I totally recommend Bows and Arrows. I bought this crazy purple chiffon dress and large purple waist belt about three months ago. I had not been brave enough to wear the ensemble until last Second Saturday and 5 glasses of wine. I got like 3 complements! It was great. I loved the store; please shop here and keep this business thriving!

Roaming Fun

Great place to roam around when walking around mid-town. I always find all sorts of treasures that have just the correct amount of funk!

Could be a midtown classic....

by PaulaInMidtown, Tuesday 12 of August, 2008 (15:40:23)

This is a great little (I mean big) thrift store, mostly catering to the 70's and 80's genre. This place is huge for a midtown shop, but I worry that if they don't carry more merch they may not stay (tears...). They have a nice mix of furniture, clothing and jewelry. The A/C goes strong, cool music in the background and lots of easy and free parking in the lot right next door (park under the tree near the fence!). I found a really nice faux alligator handbag to use for a trip....I love it and it got compliments right away....Only Ten Bucks!!!! Thanks Bows and Arrows, I will try my best to keep you in business!

All your vintage finds

by Jennifer DeSousa, Wednesday 19 of March, 2008 (21:03:29)

Bows and Arrows, run by Trisha of Pretty Trashy and Olivia of Olipom is a relief for those of us that took the 80 out to get the good stuff. Now we can find our parents and grandparents greatest threads and furniture in our own backyard.  Don't forget to wind your way through the back hallway to find the mini thrift scores of Ye Olde Junkie Shoppe. Wind a couple feet more and buy a scooter.

delicious! Furl this! digg this! stumbleupon this!
