Buckhorn Grill, Sacramento

is a quick service restaurant grown from our Buckhorn Steak & Roadhouse in Winters; featuring our signature dish, Char- roasted Sirloin Tri-Tip, and proclaiming that it is the “Best Tri-Tip on the Planet”. As well as the Char-roasted Tri-Tip, Buckhorn Grill also has oven-roasted herb chicken, wood-fired salmon and oven roasted vegetables; along with six signature salads and other tasty side dishes, such as “red potato mashers”, “Roadhouse onion rings” and three soups each day to choose from.

Buckhorn Brand:  Why is our Tri-Tip the Best on the Planet? First, we start with the highest quality beef available, Certified Angus Beef, it exceeds the USDA specifications for choice, select or prime. We marinade and use a dry rub seasoning on the Tri-Tip, then char-roast it over an open fruitwood fire to seal in the flavor then finish roasting it to a medium-rare finish. It is so tender and juicy it melts in your mouth.

The History of Buckhorn Grill

The Char Roasted Sirloin Tri-Tip is the centerpiece of the Buckhorn Grill. The idea for the Buckhorn Grill was born out of the success of this product at the Davis Farmer's Market in Davis, California. Thousands of tri-tip sandwiches were sold at the market, and Tri-Tip Master Jake can still be found by the custom BBQ smoker at the markets on Wednesday nights. A limited menu concept grew out of 18 years of trial and error at the Buckhorn Steak & Roadhouse and Buckhorn Catering Company in Winters, California. After years of evolving the menu of catering events, fairs and on restaurant concession menus, Jim Apple, John Pickerel, and Melanie Bajakian Pickerel began exploring the idea of a “once a week” idea into a full time business. The first Buckhorn Grill opened in the Metreon in San Francisco, California in 1999, and with its great success, proved there is a market for this menu concept. Each Buckhorn Grill is uniquely designed and provides a friendly, family atmosphere with Really Good Food, Real Fast.

Buckhorn Grill will have seven locations to serve you by the end of 2007. With more restaurants on the way, look for a Buckhorn Grill coming to your neighborhood!

Buckhorn Grill

by ubomag, Wednesday 09 of January, 2008 [13:10:39]
By Aaris A. Schroeder Buckhorn Grill is created for people on the go as you order up front and grab your own soda or tea and sit down at a table while your food is prepared and cooked for you. Buckhorn offers food choices for vegetarians, chicken-lovers and grilled-steak fans. Tri-tip is the specialty at Buckhorn Grill yet when I stepped into the elongated restaurant that has a view of the chefs mixing and cooking up flavorful salads, entrees and sandwiches I sat at the bar and ordered a Yik Yak Salad. It came in a fresh, spinach flavored tortilla filled with crisp salad greens, jicama and snow peas, all mixed with this sweet and tangy Asian-inspired sesame dressing and finally topped with toasted almonds. This salad is a great treat for those watching their weight since the tortilla isn’t fried or if you are a vegetarian. It is also the most popular salad entre choice. The secret, says Mike Last Name, manager of Buckhorn Grill is that you wrap the salad up in the tortilla and eat it as a veggie-wrap. If Buckhorn sounds like a tasty treat, stop by for lunch – it is fast, flavorful and offers a variety of food choices all in a fun-neighborhood grill-like setting.
