For as long as I can remember, the word on the street about Fox and Goose food has always been that their breakfasts are phenomenal. This is where the problem lies. Getting breakfast at the Fox and Goose on weekends is INSANE. It’s always packed. My husband and I stood there for an hour before we got served the one time we braved to stay. It's hard for me to give a fair judgement of what I ate, becasue I was so frustrated by the time I actually got to.
On the other hand, whenever I’ve been to an open mike night or other performance in the evening at the Fox and Goose, it’s always been really nice. The space is a little small, so things get crowded quickly. But they have a fairly decent calendar of events. The customers are kind of insular but the staff is really nice.
For me, it’s not a place I frequent but a place I feel comfortable going when they have an event that sounds interesting.
The best of its kind in town

I love the Fox & Goose for fish and chips and also traditional sessions on the last Tuesday of every month.
This has got to be my favorite hangout in the whole of Sacramento. Amazing imports are on draft and they just upgraded to a full bar so make sure to order Kettle One in that O.K. Fine (the Goose's version of a Bloody Mary made with wasabi). They are open for breakfast seven days a week, and you might even catch a glimpse of Bill, the original proprietor. When you come, be sure to bring your wit, this group is quick. Don't forget this venue in the evenings, they are a great showcase for local talent. And watch out for that old dog, he likes to goose pretty young ladies ;)
Nice.
