Before I start, I have to say, I'm from San Diego, so when it comes to Mexican food, I’m use to being able to actually going TO MEXICO for Mexican food, or a local carnicaria. I know what’s good, and what’s great… and well…
Cantina Del Rio is just O.K.
Fist off, it took too long to be seated. There were visibly empty tables, that did not appear to be reserved for anyone, and yet my party of four had to wait nearly a half hour to be seated. The service was friendly though, which melted away most of the harsh feelings from the wait. We each ordered something different. carnitas, carne asada, chile reino, and a quesadilla. The Carne asada and chile reino were good, but the other plates fell short, as did the rice and beans. In San Diego, you can get better food at “Porkyland”!
