Miller, Rachel

Rachel Miller has been painting portraits for close to 14 years. Her motivation in the art field has always been her love for people and her strong conviction that we are spiritual beings. Through her portraits Rachel illuminates elements that a photograph misses, creating a surrounding atmosphere of the individual that shows their vitality and mystery. Through her countless self-portraits and paintings of lovers she has refined her gift and now uses it to paint cultural icons and people like you.

Rachel lives in Sacramento, where in addition to paintings she also teaches yoga. She experiences both painting and yoga as practices of honesty, "where you have to keep looking and seeing what's really there, again and again." Along with her commitment to keep looking, her amazing sense of color and light, Rachel creates portraits that allow the individual's unique soul to shine through the canvas.
