Today Is Bike Commute Day
Hey there Gridsters, May is Bike Month! Are you riding as much as you can and logging the miles on the region's bike month web site? If each of us rides to work even once/month or once/week, we would begin to alter the dynamics.
Anyone living and working in the Central City should bike to work at least once/week. Imagine the gas savings, the health benefits, and the fun of riding and appreciating our city from a different view.
The more we ride, the more we will ask from the city and the county to make Sacramento bike-friendly. If we really want to Green the Grid and actively reduce our carbon footprint, we need to bike and walk more. It's hard to wean ourselves of the convenience of driving, but remember the joy of being a kid and riding around your neighborhood. Why did we ever stop?
Pedal your way to better air quality and a great life.
Have a wonderful Bike Commute Day and feel free to share any stories!
And log on to SACOG's Bike Month site above.
See you on The Grid.
