“Lost” by Steven Tiller – 2005 - Latex and Modified oil on board
April 12th, 2008
Second Saturday, in Midtown Sacramento: Coventry Gallery and Framing presents:
Live Music, from the band: Litany
Local Sacramento artist, Steven Tiller’s art makes strong use of harmonious color and contrast of texture. Many pieces involve a conflict of medium, where modified oil resists the expected behavior of latex and acrylic. These pieces have all been constructed of materials reclaimed from the construction waste of the artist’s contract job sites. Panels from old bookshelves and discarded bits of materials are given new life and purpose. The works themselves are proof that we can reduce our own waste, generating objects of value and beauty with the simple application of creativity.
Celebrate the 2008 Green Art Walk and MAKE ART in our creative workshop using a variety of art materials rescued from being turned into trash. It will be fun for children and adults alike.
The artist’s reception will be from Six pm to 9pm, during our extended hours on the Second Saturday and there will be snacks and live music from Sacramento’s own eclectic band, Litany. The event is FREE, friendly, and fun!
Also, get in to Coventry right now and have a creative picture frame custom made for you and we will pay the sales tax! A picture frame will help present and preserve the items you value. From posters to artists prints, and from jerseys to family pictures, our frame designers will help you achieve a unique look that suits your own personal tastes. This offer is limited, so come in right now!
