Hey there Gridsters,

We’re seeking out any artists willing to create art using eco-friendly materials or covering environmental subject matter.

Green 2nd Saturday will be held on April 12, 2008, primarily in Midtown, Downtown, East Sac and along Broadway, but all galleries, art spaces, and artists are invited to participate, host, and spread the word. Our goal is to start this tradition as part of founding Sacramento’s first annual Earth Month on behalf of ECOS to complement the culminating festivities of Earth Day at Sac State and use the month-long platform to propel Sactown into Bike Commuter Month, encouraging each of us to ride to work for at least one day this May!

There may be opportunities to provide artists the ability to experiment with low VOC and no VOC paints from Green Sacramento if we know far enough in advance. If you see how to work with the paints artistically, then feel free to play with them live on 2nd Saturday at one of our participating spaces, such as VOX Gallery, Body Tribe, Cool Cat Gallery, and more.
