A good hike in Placer County-

Your destination is the Stevens Trail, which will be a 6.4 mile round-trip day hike.  You'll want to print the details from the website below before you head out.

On your way up I-80 exit at Horseshoe Bar Rd in Loomis, when you exit you'll loop around and then want to take a right (heading north).  Horseshoe Bar Rd will take you right to Wild Chicken Coffee.

Once you're fueled up on a cup of Kenya AA or maybe you prefer a Pumpkin Ginger Spice Mocha, to each is own, both are very tasty, you're ready to hit the Hwy again towards the trail.  http://wildchickencoffee.com/

From I-80 take the Colfax exit that has a sign for Hwy 174 on it.  You'll want to take a left onto the frontage road which is N. Canyon Way (on the east side of I-80).  This road will take you right to the parking lot and trailhead for Stevens Trail.  Enjoy and make sure you pack lunch/snacks and water.

After you return to your vehicle you'll likely be ready for some grub.  Hop back on 80 to Auburn and take the Nevada St exit, turn right on Placer St and right on Maple which will take you to Washington St

There will be parking on the street or at one of the small parking lots in the area which are open to the public.  From there you can check out the Auburn Alehouse at 289 Washington St.  The American River Pale Ale is always a good bet after a nice hike and you can't go wrong with a Kobe Burger or BBQ Pork Sandwich. Many other good eats and brews to choose from as well.  http://www.auburnalehouse.com/
