The Buzz for 2nd Saturday

Hey there Gridsters,

There's plenty to do today.

This morning, The Grid Guru and family cleaned the alleys of Oak Park with 40 students from Sac Charter High and County YouthWorks, an after school leadership program. We met at 8:30 a.m. at Christian Brothers High School parking lot and broke out in 4 teams of ten plus a few adults in each squad. This effort was a deep cleaning, probably one of the heaviest loads in 3 years from whole backyard fences to tires to illegal dump

The Guru chairs the newly minted 2nd Saturday Task Force as a collaborative committee for the Midtown Business Association (MBA) and the City.  By Monday afternoon, we'll bring together the Downtown Partnership as a voice.

Rachel Miller's New Show

Nothing in the world can get me to go out on a Second Saturday, nothing except an exceptionally beautiful and talented woman. That woman is Rachel Miller. She is a stunning character around town, often to be found sweaty and bending, and the imagery that flows through her hands to canvas is as fantastical and vibrant as she is. The show was great and of course we taped it. Later we learned more about the group:
