CommentLocal Farmers Markets
Fresh Air, Fresh Food, Fresh FacesWhat better excuse to get out and get some fresh air than getting out and getting some fresh produce?! It's a beautiful sight - those rows and rows and boxes and bins of veggies, fruits, nuts, flowers and such! I haven't been to all of them but I'd recommend any of them. Sundays under the freeway are the biggest market, I believe (bring a sweater if the weather hasn't yet reached Sacramento summer style). The Wednesday market at Cesar Chavez is fun and happening!
These markets are like outings in and of themselves to be cherished and absorded if time and temperament permit. You can support local farms and farmers and get one-on-one contact with growers while doing the urban-cavorting-with-nature dance at the same time. Seems a win-win!
